CONTACT LENSES
The contact lens industry is constantly evolving. The doctors at
Advances In Vision specialize in the fitting of contact lenses.
We are proud to provide a full range of contact lenses, materials,
services, and solutions that keep up with today’s technological
advances and improvements. We offer a free contact lens “test
drive” to ensure contact lens success. Remember, when you
are buying contact lenses, your are not buying just the contact
– you are buying the competency and experience of the doctor
who has prescribed and provided them for you. There’s just
no reason why you can’t enjoy the comfort and freedom that
comes with contact lens wear!
• Soft disposable contact lenses –
theses lenses are now becoming the standard in contact lens wear
as they are the healthiest for the eye and because they come in
a wide variety of materials, sizes, and shapes its easy to find
a great fitting lens. Soft disposable lenses also have variable
replacement schedules: some last a few months, some a few weeks,
and some are replaced every day. Our doctors will help you determine
which replacement schedule will work best for you.
• Gas permeable lenses -- GP contact lenses are still a wonderful
option in contact lens wear. They provide clear crisp vision, and
are excellent choice for ocular health. They are an option for patients
with astigmatism, high myopia, and bifocal contact lenses.
• Toric lenses for astigmatism -- astigmatism is where the
front of the eye is not perfectly spherical and when the light passes
through the eye it focus at two separate points rather than one
causing blurred vision. Technology has significantly improved toric
lenses such that people who were once told they were not candidates
for contact lens wear are now able to achieve comfortable clear
vision with contact lenses.
• Colored contact lenses -- there are many different styles
and colors available. You can choose to dramatically change your
eye color or you can enhance your natural color. The lenses are
available in prescription and non-prescription.
• Bifocal contact lenses – state of the art technology
now allows the convenience of distance and near vision in a comfortable
soft contact lens.
• Monovision -- is a contact lens fitting process that corrects
one eye distance vision and one eye for near vision (usually the
non-dominant eye). This technique allows you to see objects in the
distance and up-close with out the need of reading glasses over
your contacts. Although one eye is doing the majority of near work,
this technique works very well for most patients.
