Michele Quintero, O.D.
Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Michele Quintero is a therapeutic
optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist. As a primary
eye care physician, she performs comprehensive dilated
eye exams for the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease.
She specializes in fitting contact lenses and providing
eye care for the entire family. Dr. Quintero’s interests
include general medical eye care, laser vision correction,
glaucoma, and cataract surgery.
Dr. Quintero was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She
received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University
of Texas at San Antonio.

She then attended the University of Houston
College of Optometry, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude
with a Doctor of Optometry degree.
During that time, she received several
prestigious awards recognizing her high level of clinical
excellence in patient care and was inducted into the Beta
Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. Dr. Quintero completed
internships specializing in the management and treatment
of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, laser vision correction,
and preoperative and postoperative care for cataract surgery.
Dr. Quintero is an active member of the American Optometric
Association, Texas Optometric Association, and Harris
County Optometric Society. While outside of the office,
she enjoys watching movies and spending time with her
friends and family.

Sam Quintero, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Therapeutic Optometrist
Dr. Sam Quintero received his optometric
training at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
After receiving his doctorate in 1972, he joined the faculty
of the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. Quintero is currently the Chair of the Department
of Clinical Sciences at the University of Houston College
of Optometry. He is certified as a Therapeutic Optometrist
and his interests include contact lens practice, diagnosis
and management of ocular disease and laser and other refractive
procedures. Dr. Quintero is Head of Research for the Texas
Eye Research and Technology Center (TERTC) at the University
of Houston College of Optometry.

Dr. Quintero is a
Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and has served
as Chair of the Section on Optometric Education for the
American Academy of Optometry. He is Chair of the Association
of Practice Management Educators. He is a member of the
Texas Optometric Association and serves as a member of
the Continuing Medical Education Committee and is also
a member of the American Optometric Association. He serves
on several task forces for the Association of Schools
and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO). He has been recognized
for his contributions to education by the Texas Optometric
Association having received the Educator of the Year Award
in 2005. He was also recognized for his contributions
to the American Academy of Optometry, receiving the Eminent
Service Award in 1998.
In addition to his academic interests, Dr. Quintero maintains
an active private practice in Houston, Texas.

| At
Advances In Vision, we offer our patients many surgical services:
Cataract Surgery, Laser Surgery, Laser Vision Correction,
Strabismic Surgery, and Retinal Surgery. We provide these
services through a co-management program. We have working
arrangements established with other specialized eye care doctors
and surgeons to manage these and other ocular conditions such
as retinal detachments, retinal tears and hemorrhages. It
is our goal that you, the patient, benefit from the cooperative
and combined efforts of doctors working together to provide
you with the best care possible. |

Edward Wade, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Ophthalmologist
A native of El Paso, Texas, Dr. Wade completed
his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois
in 1980. He graduated first in his class from Baylor College
of Medicine in 1984 and was awarded the Michael DeBakey
Scholar Award. He completed his ophthalmology residency
at Baylor College of Medicine where he was named chief
resident.

He completed a fellowship
in retinal disease and surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute
in Miami, Florida. Dr. Wade returned to practice in Houston
and provides full scope medical/surgical eyecare, including
cataracts, glaucoma, refractive surgery and retina. Dr.
Wade is one of the leading surgeons in Texas providing
LASIK, Epi Lasik, PRK, ReStor and Verisyse surgeries.
He also lectures internationally on a variety of eyecare
subjects, has published numerous articles and speaks Spanish
fluently.

Ting Fang-Suarez, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Ophthalmologist
Ting Fang-Suarez, M.D., is a board certified
ophthalmologist specializing in vitreo-retinal disease
and surgery. Dr. Fang- Suarez completed her medical degree
and an ophthalmology residency at the University of Sao
Paulo Medical School in Brazil in 1985. From 1986 to 1988,
Dr. Fang-Suarez worked as a staff ophthalmologist at the
University of Sao Paulo Medical School.

In 1989, Dr. Suarez
finished a vitreo-retinal research fellowship at Louisiana
State University Eye Center in New Orleans, LA. This was
followed by vitreo-retinal clinical-surgical fellowship
at University of Bonn Eye Clinic in Bonn, Germany. In
1991, she resumed her duties as a staff ophthalmologist
at the University of Sao Paulo until late 1992 when she
returned to the United States. Dr. Fang-Suarez completed
an internal medicine internship at the Texas Tech University
Health Science Center in Lubbock. She completed an ophthalmology
residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville
in 1998 and a vitreo-retinal clinical-surgical fellowship
at Louisiana State University Eye Center in New Orleans
in 2000.
Dr. Fang-Suarez was born in Taiwan, China, raised in Brazil,
and has lived in the United States since 1992. She is
fluent in English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Mandarin
Chinese and has knowledge of French and Italian. Dr. Fang-Suarez
is a member of many professional ophthalmology organizations
and has written articles for numerous U.S. and international
journals.
Dr. Fang-Suarez provides a wide range of the latest vitreo-retinal
surgical and clinical procedures. She continues to see
many anterior segment/general ophthalmology patients to
assist Eye Center of Texas in it’s attempt to provide
comprehensive care at appointment times convenient to
each patient.
